Apple Enables Subscriptions in the App Store
Feb 15, 2011, 8:46 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Apple today turned on support for subscriptions in the iPhone App store. This will allow makers of iPhone/iPad/iPod content to offer subscription-based models, including this such as digital magazines or newspapers. The store will support automatic subscriptions, and permit weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly or yearly subscriptions. Customers will be able to manage their accounts from a single page, and can extend, cancel or create subscriptions with a single click. Apple will handle all the billing through user's iTunes account, taking the same 30% cut that it does for applications.
