Verizon Revamps V Cast Music App for Android
Feb 21, 2011, 9:17 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Verizon Wireless today announced a new version of the V Cast Music application for its Android devices. The new application puts all of Verizon's music-based content in one spot, including full song downloads, ringback tones and ringtones. Full song purchases will range in price from $0.69 to $1.29, and will be MP3 files that are free of DRM (digital rights management). Verizon said that it will package multiple versions of the same song (track plus ringtone, etc.) in reduced-cost bundles. Verizon also said that it is offering Jukebox programs that will rotate the ringback tones that callers hear. The new version of V Cast requires Android devices running 2.1 Eclair and up. Users will be prompted to update their V Cast app the next time they launch it.
