Microsoft Launches Bing Deals
Mar 3, 2011, 12:25 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Microsoft today launched a new location-based, money-saving service called Bing Deals. Bing Deals works on both the desktop and mobile browser versions of Bing, and offers users discounts, sales, coupons, and other savings in some 14,000 U.S. communities. In order to make Bing work, Microsoft has struck partnerships with a wide range of discounters, including Groupon, Restaurants.com, and LivingSocial. The Deals option has been added to the Bing search menu, and when selected delivers a list of the top deals in the user's location. Users can narrow their searches down via categories such as restaurants, spas, etc. Deals can also be shared via email from within the Bing app. Apple iOS and Google Android device makers have access to Bing Deals from m.bing.com.
