Twitter Overhauls iPhone App
Mar 3, 2011, 1:11 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Twitter today made a new version of its application available to the iPhone and iPad. The new software includes sweeping changes to the user interface, as well as new features. First is the Quick Bar, which lets users view trends and other info (including promoted trends/tweets) without leaving their timeline. It can also display trends based on location. The tweet composition screen has been simplified, and direct messages now appear in a more threaded SMS style. Other improvements include better autocomplete and hashtag support, better contact integration, easier-to-use preferences, and easier photo uploads. The update is free.
