Adobe Cooks Up Experimental Flash-to-HTML5 Tool
Mar 8, 2011, 8:08 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Adobe has released a new experimental technology that it says can be used to convert Flash files, such as artwork and/or animation, into HTML. Once the files are converted to HTML, developers can edit them as normal using HTML developing tools. The technology, which Adobe is calling Wallaby, should help Flash content play in the WebKit browsers of devices such as Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (in addition to Safari and Chrome on the desktop). Adobe warns that not all Flash files can be converted to HTML5. Wallaby is available to developers in beta form.
