Lightsquared and Open Range today announced a new partnership whereby Open Range will lease LightSquared's L-band spectrum and the two will together work to build out a Long Term Evolution 4G network. This partnership will allow Open Range to sell LightSquared's satellite capacity and will give Lightsquared and Open Range cross-roaming capabilities. Open Range provides wireless broadband services in rural American communities. The agreement is subject to government approval.
