FCC to Allow HTC to Turn On Inspire 4G's HSUPA Radio

A new set of approval documents spotted on the Federal Communications Commission web site note that HTC now has permission to turn on the HSUPA radio inside the Inspire 4G. The Inspire 4G shipped with an HSUPA radio inside, but it is inactive pending finalization of HSUPA performance software from AT&T. Now that HTC has been given permission to activate the HSUPA radio, it is possible AT&T has finalized what it needs in order to enable faster uploads from the Inspire 4G. Neither HTC nor AT&T have said when the device might actually be updated. The Motorola Atrix 4G also has restricted upload speeds due to an inactive HSUPA radio.
