Research In Motion today announced that a new version of its BlackBerry Traffic application will soon be available from BlackBerry App World. BlackBerry Traffic 2.0 adds a handful of new features, including the ability to select from multiple routes and add pre-set destinations directly from the contacts application. It also has a new way to look at predicted traffic flow for differing routes, provides better estimates on arrival times, and allows users to share estimated arrival times via SMS, email, or PIN. Last, the application offers advice for the best time to depart for a given location based on real-time traffic data. The application is free and works on all BlackBerries running system 4.6 and up in North America.
