RIM Says No Android Apps, No Flash for OS 7

Research In Motion indicated that its new BlackBerry OS 7 platform, which will first be available on the Bold 9900/9930, will not be party to the same support for Android applications that the PlayBook tablet is. BlackBerry OS 7 will also not support Flash, and will instead rely on HTML5 for web video playback. RIM is still working to bring a version of its QNX-based PlayBook OS to BlackBerry smartphones, but that software won't be ready until early 2012.

HTML5 =/= the new Flash
Epic fail for RIM, same thing as with iOS. I'm not entirely sure why these companies think that they can completely do away with something that well over 60% of websites online currently use on their websites. It's not going to get outdated anytime soon, and ignoring the huge customer-base opportunity is a mistake. Certainly HTML5 is going places, but Flash won't be gone in the near future at all. If anything, it will continue to be built upon and bettered.

Blackberry is a joke. They just don't get it. Even with the Playbook you need a blackberry phone to bridge it with. FAIL

QNX is the future Blackberry OS
Blackberry is just holding up while it can QNX up and running for tablet and mobile. Which will run android and everything else problem is not till 2012
Why?
RIM just possible missed out on one the best ideas I have seen in a while. By allowing the Playbook access Android apps pure was genius and not carrying that feature over to the new BB line is more evidence that RIM has lost touch in what people want. RIM had/has a unique opportunity to piggyback on Android successful app market but chooses to close that door. I would have like to seen RIM not only keep that feature on future devices but open the door a little more by supporting iOS apps through emulation as well. I think RIM could have gotten back in the game if they could create a top end device that supports not just apps from BB but Andriod and iOS as well. It would give them a whole take to the term “Smart Phoneâ€Â....
