Ericsson, Motorola, and Siemens today announced the first joint interoperability tests for Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC) technology. The companies aim to ensure that all Motorola, Siemens, and Sony Ericsson PoC phones will work with all Ericsson, Motorola, and Siemens PoC servers. The companies expect to introduce the first compatible products in the 2nd quarter. The companies have joined to promote a pre-standard for PoC, hoping for final approval by the OMA standards body.
