Motorola Mobility Snaps Up SunUp Digital Systems

Motorola Mobility today announced that is has acquired SunUp Digital Systems for an undisclosed sum. SunUp provides digital rights management and video streaming services. Motorola will use SunUp's technology to help it provide streaming video across multiple platforms, such as its set-top boxes and mobile devices, while protecting the rights of content creators. Motorola didn't immediately provide information about how the acquisition will be used in its mobile products. Motorola has purchased and/or invested in a wide range of media/content management services this year.
