Verizon Wireless today announced that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Android phone will become available for pre-order starting May 19 for $199.99. The handset, first announced earlier this year, is a sideways slider that has gaming controls instead of a QWERTY keyboard. It has a 1GHz processor, four-inch display, and five megapixel camera. It will be pre-loaded with seven games and can access and download additional games from the Android Market and V CAST gaming stores. It requires a monthly voice and data plan. It will be available from Verizon's retail stores starting May 26.
