Nokia to Release New WP7 Handsets Frequently

Speaking to PCMag, Nokia's chief of smart devices Jo Harlow said that the company plans to release new Windows Phone 7 handsets at a fairly regular pace. "We should be launching new devices in a rhythm that might be every couple of months, every three months, something like that," she said. "We're going to keep coming with new devices in order to have something to talk about." Nokia has drastically slowed the introduction of new phones as it transitions from Symbian to Windows Phone 7 for its smartphones. The first Nokia WP7 handsets are expected late this year or early in 2012. Harlow also indicated that the company has changed its attitude regarding CDMA and is in talks with American network operators. "We are working in a collaborative way across the triad of Nokia, Microsoft and the operators," she said. Nokia will rely on Microsoft's partnerships with the U.S. carriers to gain a better foothold in the U.S.
