Google and RIM Vow to Fight Recent Lawsuits

Both Google and Research In Motion spoke up on Friday about separate lawsuits recently filed against the companies. Google, in response to the lawsuit filed against it Thursday by PayPal and eBay over its mobile payment service, said that it will fight the allegations that it stole corporate secrets. It also pointed out that Californians have the right to "use their knowledge and expertise to seek better employment opportunities." RIM was also sued this week, though by its own investors, who allege that the company willfully misled them about the company's financial outlook between December 2010 and April 2011. In a statement issued today, RIM said that "it intends to vigorously defend against a purported class action lawsuit filed against it. RIM also said it "believes the allegations are without merit."
