HTC Announces OpenSense SDK and Developer Program

HTC today announced a new support program for developers called HTCdev. The developer program, which will kick off later this summer, is meant to help developers interested in targeting HTC's handsets access the tools and resources they need more effectively develop for HTC handsets. HTC also announced the OpenSense SDK, which will let developers more deeply integrate their own applications and servies within HTC's Sense 3.0 Android interface. The OpenSense SDK will include APIs for 3D displays and the Tablet pen (used for the HTC Flyer). HTC said that the program will receive regular updates to the number and types of tools available based on developer feedback. Samsung recently announced a similar developer support program for its Android-based smartphones.
