iTunes In the Cloud Syncs Music Across Devices

As part of its iCloud announcement today, Apple announced a service called iTunes in the Cloud. The service will store all songs a user has purchased from the iTunes Music Store in the cloud and sync it across iOS devices. Apple is also allowing users the opportunity to use a service called iTunes Match. With this service, Apple will scan the non-iTunes-purchased content that a person owns, and, if Apple has that content already available in the iTunes Store, allow the users to add it to their cloud music collection. iTunes in the Cloud will support up to 20,000 songs at 256Mbps AAC for $24.99 per year. Apple says this negates the need for users to upload their music manually or purchase it again.
