Swype Rolls Out Beta Version 3.0

Swype is making a third beta version of its predictive software keyboard available to Android handsets starting today. The newest version of Swype brings with it a number of new features. First, it adds horizontal word choice, which lists word matches in a horizontal bar above the keyboard rather than the pop-up that used to appear. It also adds support for a number of new screen sizes, with the full list including HVGA, WVGA, FWVGA, QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA, and qHD. It also allows people to stop swiping mid-word and tap out corrections without losing the predictive ability of the keyboard. Last, Swype is making a special version of Swype available to Honeycomb-based tablets.

I thought that swype was not upgradeable and you were stuck with whatever version released with your firmware?
