Samsung recently announced that it is manufacturing 20 nanometer, Class 10 microSD cards for mobile phones. The new card offers 32GB of storage and read/write speeds of 24Mbps and 12Mbps, respectively. According to Samsung, the new chips use 32Gb 3-bit NAND flash memory chips and a 3-bit NAND controller to reach these read/write speeds. Samsung didn't say when these chips would be available. Samsung also indicated that it is going to manufacture 64Gb 3-bit NAND chips next year. Many of today's high-end smartphones support microSD cards up to 32GB.
