Google has announced a forthcoming revision to its search application for the Android platform. The new version, which will work with devices running Android 2.2 and up, adds a handful of new features, including new search suggestions that are grouped by search type, with web suggestions placed at the top. Other changes include search suggestions and results customized to countries and/or Google domains; faster deletion of search history; and an updated user interface that Google says is faster and easier to use. The update is not yet available from the Android Market. Google hasn't indicated exactly when the update will be offered and it removed the blog post that described the updated application.
