Motorola today announced its Cross-Technology PoC infratsructure solution. The offering connects Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) networks running on different network technologies, including GPRS, CDMA2000 1X, and WiFi networks. EDGE and WCDMA will be supported in later versions. The solution can connect networks within a carrier, or between carriers with roaming agreements. Carriers can also use the solution to offer wi-fi coverage to corporate customers. The solution works only with phones based on the PoC industry standard.
