Mozilla has released Firefox 6 for Android smartphones and tablets. The new version of mobile Firefox brings with it a new user interface that Mozilla adjusted to look and feel more like the native Android system software. Firefox 6 for Android includes a new welcome page that is populated with shortcuts to browsing tools, and Mozilla says that the browser is faster at zooming, and better at rendering clear text and images. Mozilla has also optimized it for use on Android tablets, with resized fonts and buttons. Additionally, Mozilla is offering developers some new tools to create web apps for Mozilla. Mozilla envisions developers using the new APIs to create browser-based games and other content. Firefox 6 for Android will be available in the Android Market later today.
