Galaxy S II Hiding NFC Support In AT&T, T-Mobile Versions

FCC approvals for the just-announced Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T and T-Mobile show that the hardware supports NFC for tap-based transactions, possibly including payments. Neither AT&T nor T-Mobile will confirm if they plan to support the feature. Based on FCC documents, the Sprint version does not appear to support NFC. AT&T and T-Mobile are both members of - and investors in - Isis, a mobile payment network that will support tap payments via NFC technology.
