New BREW Expands To Phone Interfaces
Jun 7, 2004, 1:46 PM by (staff)
Qualcomm today announced version 3.1 of the BREW client software, and the new BREW UI Toolkit. The solution allows the creation of a carrier-branded UI that can be standardized and ported to all handset models. Carriers can use the solution to customize all aspects of the UI via BREW, including the home screen, menus, phone book, and messaging. Updates to the UI may be made over-the-air (OTA), allowing an operator to "push" new content into the UI, such as branding refreshes, content, and software updates.
