GetJar Gold Offers Free Premium Apps to Android Phones
Sep 8, 2011, 8:47 AM by Eric M. Zeman
GetJar today launched the GetJar Gold Android app store. The app store features 50 premium, ad-free applications at no cost. GetJar Gold appears to be targeting Amazon's Android app store, as the 50 titles normally cost $0.99 to $4.99. Rather than take a percentage of app sales, GetJar pays the developers for each download and then offsets the cost by selling sponsored listings within the GetJar Gold store to other developers. Unlike Amazon's Android app store, there is no time limit on GetJar Gold and the free apps can be downloaded at any time. The GetJar Gold Android app store is available online for desktop browsers, mobile browsers, and in a separate Android application.
