Google Buys Zagat

Google today announced that it has purchased restaurant rating company Zagat for an undisclosed sum. Google plans to use Zagat to enhance its local offerings, and it will incorporate Zagat ratings and reviews into Google Maps, Google Places, and other Google products. Google has slowly been adding to the features of its local and mobile search offerings, which include customer reviews of eateries and other businesses. Adding Zagat will help it enhance these services.
