LG Refutes Staffing Cut Report
Sep 9, 2011, 7:17 AM by Eric M. Zeman
LG today denied that it has cut staff from its overseas mobile phone business units. On Friday, the Korean Economic Daily reported that LG had sliced up to 30% of the workers from its struggling cell phone business. The report was cited by Reuters, and LG initially declined to comment. Now LG says the original report was baseless. "We are always looking at opportunities to improve the performance of our mobile business but no decision has been made as to any job reductions," said an LG spokesman.
