Sprint Debuts CDMA-GSM International Wi-Fi Hotspot

Sprint today announced the Sprint International Mobile Hotspot, which is made by ZTE. This mobile hotspot is a dual-mode CDMA-EVDO and GSM/UMTS/WCDMA device that works on Sprint's 3G network in the U.S. and can roam onto the 3G networks of GSM providers in other countries. It supports up to five Wi-Fi devices in the U.S., but just one Wi-Fi device when roaming on a GSM network. It has an external display to indicate signal and battery strength, and can be controlled via a web-based user interface. The Sprint International Mobile Hotspot costs $49.99 after rebates with a new agreement. It requires a $59.99 5GB data plan in the U.S. Overseas data charges vary.
