Sprint and Samsung today made a software update available to the Samsung Nexus S Android smartphone that adds the Google Wallet application. Google Wallet is a free Android app that stores virtual versions of a customer’s credit cards, offers and loyalty cards right on their phone, which can then be used to make near-field communications payments and properly equipped retailers. Google Wallet will first support Citi MasterCard credit cards and the Google Prepaid MasterCard. Google plans to support additional cards, such as those from Visa, Discover, and American Express, over time.
