T-Mobile and HTC today took the wraps off of a new Android smartphone, the Amaze 4G. This slab-style phone boasts an 8-megapixel camera, dual-core 1.5GHz SnapDragon S3 processor, and support for T-Mobile's HSPA+ network at 42Mbps. That makes it one of the fastest smartphones in T-Mobile's current lineup of devices. The Amaze 4G's camera shoots 1080p HD video, and includes HTC software — Smart Shot and Perfect Pics — to improve the images captured with the device. Other features of the Amaze 4G include a 4.3-inch qHD (540 x 960) Super LCD display; Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.5; and support for near-field communications. The HTC Amaze 4G will cost $259.99 after rebate with a new agreement. The full retail price is $549.99. It will be available online to existing customers starting October 10, and will reach T-Mobile USA retail stores on October 12.
