MetroPCS today announced the LG Esteem, the company's third 4G LTE phone. Nearly identical to the LG Revolution for Verizon, the Esteem differs only in the amount of internal memory (8 GB on the Esteem) and the frequency bands it supports for LTE, to match Metro's network. The phone is marketed as being media-centric. For an extra $10/month, consumers can choose unlimited music streaming from Rhapsody, or streaming video content from MetroSTUDIO. The phone sports Android 2.3, a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel main camera, front camera, 4.3-inch display, TV output via HDMI (wired) and DLNA (wireless), and 8GB of built-in memory plus a memory card slot. It goes on sale "this week" for $349, although a $100 mail-in rebate brings the total down to $249.
