U.S. Seeks More Data from Google and Motorola
Sep 28, 2011, 5:45 PM by Eric M. Zeman
The U.S. Department of Justice has requested that both Google and Motorola provide it with more information regarding Google's proposed acquisition of Motorola. The Justice Department put its review of the acquisition on hold pending receipt of the materials. The nature of the information being sought by the Justice Department wasn't disclosed. Google announced last month its plan to acquire Motorola, which gives it access to a large number of patents and Motorola's handset and set top box businesses. Google and Motorola still expect the deal to close in the late 2011 or early 2012.
