Verizon Wireless today announced the availability of a new application called Facetones. Facetones, which was developed by Vringo, automatically pulls photos from users' Facebook accounts to create a slideshow that plays on the phone's display when the phone rings. The service works on about 20 Android and BlackBerry smartphones. It can be downloaded through the V CAST Apps store and costs $0.99 per month or can be purchased for a one-time fee of $2.99.
