Samsung Stratosphere Boasts LTE with QWERTY Keyboard

Verizon Wireless and Samsung today announced the Stratosphere, a new Android-based smartphone that adds for the first time a physical QWERTY keyboard to Verizon's Long Term Evolution 4G lineup. The Stratosphere is a sideways slider with a five-row QWERTY, 4-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Other features include a 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus, flash, and 480p video capture; a 1.3-megapixel user-facing camera for video chats; GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi; and a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. The Stratosphere also offers the Samsung Media Hub software with DLNA support, mobile hotspot, and support for enterprise software such as Sybase Afaria, and Cisco AnyConnect. The Stratosphere goes on sale October 13 for $149.99 after $50 mail-in rebate with a new agreement.
