Google's Translate App Now Speaks 14 More Languages

Google today provided an update to the Android version of its Google Translate application. The application, which lets people speak text into their phones and have it translated on the screen, now works in Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Russian and Turkish. Google reminds everyone that the service is in an Alpha state and not a final product. The application also offers to correct speech before translating it, allows users to add custom words to the dictionary, and the ability to pinch-to-zoom to increase the size of the text on the screen. The update is a free download from the Android Market.
