Verizon to Offer Split-Personality Androids
Oct 19, 2011, 7:17 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Verizon Wireless today announced a new offering for its business customers that will help them keep their employees' work and personal information separate on the same device. The service, called VMware Horizon Mobile, will allow IT departments to set up a sandboxed portion of an Android handset that contains work data and account information that remains entirely separate from the employee's personal information. The service doesn't require on-board software; rather, it can be provisioned over the air to new employee handsets. LG will be among the first to supply Verizon Wireless with VMware-ready Android smartphones.
