Google Releases Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich SDK

On the heels of revealing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Google has made the SDK for Android 4.0 available to developers. The new software developers kit contains all the tools developers need in order to create applications that are compatible with Android 4.0 devices. Some of the stand-out new APIs (application programming interfaces) include a new UI toolkit; social, calendar, and Android Beam controls; new controls for the camera, video camera, music player, image effects and face detection; hardware-accelerated 2D mapping; and new text-to-speech APIs. The Android 4.0 SDK can be downloaded from Android's developer web site.
