Sony Ericsson Updates Phone Lineup

Sony Ericsson today announced several new GSM phones, covering a full range from mainstream to advanced:

The company also announced the Z500i, an international version of the Z500a clamshell EDGE phone already announced for the Americas.

Cathing Up to Nokia

I happen to think that the design (aesthetics) of sony-ericsson phones keeps improving with each new release while nokia phones designs keep getting stranger and less accessible.


Nokia for a long time was the only phone company that "got it." They designed attractive phones that lent themselves to personalization.

The rest of the industry has finally figured out that you need one or some very good industrial designers on your team. Phones are personal devices not grey boxes like PCs. Nokia can longer differentiate on this feature which leaves pricing and their subsequent reduction in prices.

I expect nokia's market share to stabilize at about 20% within the next couple of years.

Its great that Sony Ericsson is introducing these new phones, however, when is the Z500a going to be AVAILABLE????????????????
