New Glass Eliminates Reflections

A company called Nippon Electric Glass this week revealed a new glass coating that almost completely eliminates reflections and glare. The new "Invisible Glass" may be applicable to mobile devices, where lack of reflections would make displays much easier to see, especially outdoors and in other bright environments. The new glass is coated on each side with an anti-reflective film that consists of 30 layers. Because each layer is only nanometers thick, the film remains thin. The new Invisible Glass reflects only 0.5% of the light reaching it. By comparison, normal glass reflects 8% of light that hits the surface. A timeline for commercial production was not announced.

From 8% down to .5%? When I am standing outside in direct sunlight, a 900% reduction in glare will not help me, or anybody else.
😕 How could it not help?
