Microsoft to License Openwave's Patents

Openwave today announced that Microsoft has agreed to license its patent portfolio for an unknown sum. Openwave owns approximately 200 patents, including several covering smart device and cloud technologies. Earlier this year, Openwave filed patent infringement lawsuits against Apple and RIM, claiming violations of the same patents that Microsoft has now licensed.
