AT&T Scores Access to Sprint Competitive Documents

Sprint must turn over all the documents requested by AT&T thanks to a ruling from a judge overseeing the case. AT&T had requested that Sprint submit all its data regarding AT&T's proposed acquisition of T-Mobile USA, and what competitive plans surrounded that merger should it be allowed or be denied by the government. "AT&T is entitled to discover what effect the iPhone and other events of the past few months have had on Sprint's relevant market share, a part of the government's" case, said U.S. Special Master Richard Levi, noting that the documents Sprint has already contributed are more than six months old. Sprint argued last week that the document request was burdensome, but the judge disagreed. Sprint has until November 21 to turn over the documents.
