Verizon Wireless yesterday launched the Motorola V710, Verizon's first megapixel camera phone, and first phone with integrated Bluetooth. The V710 also features dual color displays, video messaging, speakerphone, advanced voice dialing, and a TransFlash memory card slot. The phone has been available through Radio Shack for over a week, but is now available directly from Verizon Wireless, for $249.99 after a $70 rebate, with a two-year service agreement.

v710 another Motorola Lemon

I have had this phone for 5 days. As I type this, the screen on it is completely blank on the desk in front of me. I am a Verizon Dealer, and this phone will be going back to Motorola first thing this morning when I get to work. I am going back to my VX7000, bluetooth or no bluetooth. At least I knew it would work when I turned it on. And for my part, I wish Verizon would drop the entire Motorola line altogether. I owe them thanks for fully 80% of my dissatisfied customers due to their shoddy handsets. If you are looking for the next great thing in cell phones, keep looking. This is not it.
I am not sure what happened, but my v710 screen was OUT last night when I turned in. When I picked it up this morning, it was back on, and has worked fine for the last 24 hours. I still am a little wary of the "temperamentalness" of this phone, but ...

Leather Case for v710?

Hello -- I am hoping someone can direct me to a source of a leather case with a swivel belt clip for the motorola v710. The local stores and Moto site don't seem to have one that works for this phone without having to remove it from the case to use it. Not good. THANK YOU!!!
I bought one directly from the Verizon store where I got the phone. It is leather, you don't have to take the phone out of it to use it. It does swivel. In addition you can unclip the leather case from the belt clip when you want to use it. I have...

How does the phone really work? Sending and Receiving

I am considering the V710. I see lots of discussion here about Blue Tooth (the reason I am interested in it) but nothing about how well the phone sends and receives. Motorola has had a series of bad phones recently. Star Tac was the last good one. I live in a fringe area. The transmitter and receiver in the phone have to work well. Does anyone have thoughts on how well the V710 works in fringe areas?

Has the phone been out long enough to tell if there are going to be any reliability issues?

Thank you,

Bill
I can just reconfirm that phone is awesome. The cons are as stated by many, camera and limited bluetooth. My biggest complaint was the speakerphone not being able to work with the flip closed.
This is the best phone I have had as far as reception goes. It work better in the car with no external antenna than any previous phones I've had and better than my fiance's Samsung A650. I have had the Nokia 6185, 3285 and the terrible Motorola T720 ...

Another Bluetooth discussion

Ok, just checked the VZW site and this is what they say: "And with Bluetooth wireless technology, you can make hands-free, eyes-free calls, and connect to your PC or PDA whenever and wherever you want."

I was under the impression from reading the forums on this site that the bluetooth on this phone does NOT have wireless connectivity to the PC........Is this a Verizon typo......or are the Brainiacs on phonescoop lieing to us?

No offense, just trying to get a little rise out of y'all......

Palm T3 and V710

This phone does not work with the Palm T3.
Actually it does. I'm using the T3 to surf the Web using the V710 and bluetooth. What is not working yet is the ability to transfer the phone address book. I've heard an updated flash is on the way.

Canadian carriers

Any chance at all that this might come to one of the big two Canadian CDMA carriers (Telus or Bell Mobility)? It would be nice to FINALLY have a BT phone on a CDMA network, they've got some kickass data plans.
Motorola is supposed to release a version of this phone with Bell Mobility. It is currently in the final quality testing stages.

Motorola was hoping for a back to school launch. However, things at Bell always take forever, and if the last generati...
