Google Blends Google Checkout into Google Wallet
Nov 17, 2011, 8:29 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Google recently announced that it is combining its Google Checkout and Google Wallet products into one service that will be called Google Wallet moving forward. As part of the change, Google Wallet will become the default payment method for the Android Market (for customers without access to carrier billing), YouTube, Google+ Games, and other Google sites. Google says that current users of Google Checkout can transition their account to Google Wallet the next time they sign in or make a purchase online. Google Wallet can be used to make payments directly from properly equipped mobile phones, as well as make payments to online merchants.
