The U.S. International Trade Commission today cleared Apple of infringing on patents held by S3 Graphics. S3 Graphics is based in California and alleged that Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and computers were violating its image compression-related patents. The ITC found Apple not liable. HTC announced its intent to purchase S3 Graphics earlier this year for about $300 million. HTC and Apple are locked in separate patent battles in various world courts.
