Research In Motion today released the first beta of the native SDK 2.0 for its PlayBook OS. This new set of developer tools includes a handful of APIs that improve access to sensors; add payment service support for subscriptions and in-app purchasing; improve reliability and performance; and add the Scoreloop SDK 1.0 Beta for social gaming. Applications that are developed for PlayBook OS 2.0 will eventually run on RIM's forthcoming BBX BlackBerry platform, which is scheduled for release during the first half of 2012.
