Flipboard for iPhone Released
Dec 7, 2011, 8:35 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Flipboard today released a version of its iPad social reader application for the iPhone. Flipboard creates a magazine-like experience from the social networks and other information sources people use daily in a way that makes it easy to discover, read, and share stories and other posts. Flipboard for iPhone supports a number of social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Instagram, Google Reader, and Flickr; and makes it easy to import content from those sites as well as push content back out to them. It introduces a new Cover Stories concept, which is a quick collection of the top stories from a user's feeds. It supports Flipboard accounts, which means that settings can be synced between the iPad and iPhone; and it adds a search bar for sifting through posts by topic or person. Last, it has a read-it-later feature for saving stories for future reading. The application is free to download and use.
