Nuance Acquires Vlingo

Nuance Communications today announced that it has agreed to acquire Vlingo for an undisclosed sum. Nuance said that Vlingo's technology will be added to its resaerch and development efforts in order to create what it calls "next-generation natural language interfaces" for devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, TVs, and cars. The company didn't say when it expects the deal to close.
