T-Mobile Says Its Focus Is Unchanged

T-Mobile has responded to the decision made by its parent company, Deutsche Telekom, and AT&T to cease their acquisition plans. "What does this mean for T-Mobile USA customers? Our focus is unchanged: make the latest mobile products and services affordable for everyone," said COO Jim Alling in a company blog post. The company has continued to expand the reach and speeds of its HSPA+ network as well as add new smartphones and other devices to its roster since the deal was first announced in March. T-Mobile says is has expanded its HSPA+ coverage to more than 200 million people in 208 markets and doubled speeds for nearly 180 million Americans in 163 markets. T-Mobile didn't spell out any new plans for future network upgrades or expansions.

I was hesitant to join T-Mobile at first, but their monthly 4G plans without contract are very competitive, and if they continue to heavily promote these, they could make a significant dent in the prepaid space.
