Synaptics Updates ClearPad Tech for Better Touchscreens

Synaptics today announced Design Studio 4, Synaptics' ClearPad development technology, with a new feature called SignalClarity. These products will help smartphone makers create devices that have improved accuracy, better finger separation, and vastly improved handling of electrical noise. The signal-to-noise improvement in particular is important because it will allow handset makers to use less expensive display panels and less expensive chargers, which will in turn reduce development costs and improve time-to-market. Synaptics DS4 also adds a built-in performance diagnostic and testing tool. Design Studio 4 is available to hardware makers starting today.
