Jan 9, 2012, 11:55 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Corning today announced Gorilla Glass 2, a second-generation of its display protection material. Gorilla Glass 2 is 20% thinner than the original Gorilla Glass, while maintaining the same level of resistance to damage and scratches. The new version of Gorilla Glass will allow device makers to develop even thinner products that have brighter screens and improved touch sensitivity. Corning said that Gorilla Glass 2 is in the final stages of pre-production testing and that devices using Gorilla Glass 2 will be announced in the months to come.
