Google Recommends Wallet Users Employ Screen Lock

Several security holes have been found in Google's Wallet service in recent days that have Google scrambling for a fix. The first affected only rooted devices and is not a concern to most users. The second security hole, however, affects all users. Ne'er-do-wells who come across a stolen or lost Android device with Google Wallet active can clear the app of all data, set up new log-in credentials, and gain access to the rightful owner's pre-paid funds. Google confirmed the existence of the bug and said that it is working on a fix that it will deliver over the air. In the mean time, Google recommends that users of the Google Wallet service set up a screen lock for their device so that it can't be accessed by anyone if lost or stolen.
